All women wear them, but not all wear them well. Studies have found that 80% of women wear the wrong size bra. If sophisticated shoppers have no problem finding properly fitting shoes and dresses, how can it be that so many of them can't find a bra that fits right? According to Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Edward Pechter, the fault lies not with the women who wear them, but with the traditional method of bra measurement, which is highly inaccurate. Through his many years of experience performing breast surgery, Dr. Pechter has developed a foolproof bra measuring system to help women accurately find the correct bra size finally!

"Over the years I have seen many patients wearing poorly fitting bras," says Dr. Pechter, who has been listening to women's concerns regarding breast size for more than 20 years in his Santa Clarita Valley practice. "I realized there had to be a reason so many women do not know their correct bra size."

Dr. Pechtera's research discovered that department and lingerie stores generally determine a woman's cup size by comparing the measurement of her chest under her breasts to the measurement around her breasts. This method usually underestimates cup size, leaving salespeople to "guesstimate" a woman's bra size on sight alone. Dr. Pechter determines brassiere band size by the industry standard of "underbust plus 5." In other words, he measures the circumference of the chest under the breast then adds five. For example, if a woman's chest measures 29 inches around, her band size is 34. He then determines cup size by measuring each breast individually from side-to-side, usually over the nipple. It is not unusual for each breast to be a different cup size.

Using the band size and breast width measurements, Dr. Pechter is able to determine bra size based on a table he developed over many years of having his patients try on various size bras. Instead of a system that gives the wrong bra size 80% of the time, Dr. Pechter's formula reveals the correct bra size for more than 90% of women!

Most women realize that having the wrong size bra can mean hours of daily discomfort and can create a "double-bubble" effect or a loosely fitting cup.
