MediLite for Acne / Red Light / Blue light

RENO, Nev.--Aug. 11, 2004--Inner Act, a product development company based in Reno, recently received FDA clearance for the treatment of acne with their MediLite™ LED product, effective July 27, 2004. MediLite™ is a non-invasive medical device for the treatment of acne. The LED light therapy employed by MediLite™ has been established as a safe treatment for all skin types, involves no pain or any side effects.

According to Dr. Ron Lamberton, director of research & development for Inner Act: "This form of blue light therapy has proven to be an exceptionally effective treatment for acne. It is fast becoming an attractive alternative to Accutane® and oral antibiotics which can have negative side effects."

Studies have shown that certain wavelengths of light have significant health and cosmetic benefits. The MediLite™ base unit allows the heads, both red and blue, to be interchanged depending on treatment protocol, optimizing absorption of the right light for each patient or problem. The Blue Light (405nm) for example, has a high level of efficacy for the treatment of acne. The Red Light (627nm) increases new tissue growth, speeds healing, stimulates collagen, and reduces lines and wrinkles.

"It is important to note that unlike current laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) machines, MediLite™'s LED light unit does not use heat and is non-invasive.
