(press release from Valeant Pharmaceuticals International) COSTA MESA, California, April 30-- Valeant Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: VRX) announced at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) today that it will launch its Kinerase(R) product line in major markets in Europe. Kinerase products are currently marketed in North America to help the skin retain moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The 40 gram Kinerase Cream and the Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream will be available in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, the United Kingdom and Hungary in mid-2004. Following the launch in these initial countries, Kinerase will also be launched in the Czech and Slovak Republics later in the year.

In a 24-week study of the Kinerase cream, 90 percent of participants reported an improvement in the texture of their skin and 87 percent reported an overall improvement in the appearance of their skin.
Kinerase Cream and Lotion have been marketed by Valeant Pharmaceuticals in the U.S. since 1999. The product has shown substantial growth since 1999, with 2003 gross sales reaching $10.9 million.
