DC-AREA PLASTIC SURGEON RESPONDS TO PIERS
MORGAN'S DAILY MAIL PIECE ON DR. FREDRIC BRANDT
press release from Austin-Weston Center for Cosmetic Surgery
"Piers Morgan's opinion piece on on Dr. Fredric Brandt's death in the Daily Mail online included this line: "If Tina Fey is guilty of anything, it's holding up a merciless mirror
to the utter futility of the plastic surgery industry." Ah, Piers. Where to start?
Like most who've heard of Fredric Brandt's death over the past weekend, I was
saddened to learn of his suicide. Like Piers Morgan, I didn't know him. Dr. Brandt
was, by all accounts, a kind, sensitive, caring man who had a large practice and
was loved by many of his patients. He was obviously a complex man and struggled
with demons that ultimately overwhelmed him -- whatever the near-term event was
that gave those demons too much power.

to likeability, social skills, attractiveness and femininity, according to a report
published online by JAMA Facial Plastic SurgeryThe relationship between facial

STUDY: TWO DIFFERENT FAT GRAFT TECHNIQUES
HAVE SIMILAR EFFECTS ON FACIAL SKIN
press release from ASPS
"Two approaches to fat
grafting-injection of fat cells versus fat-derived stem cells-have similar effects
in reversing the cellular-level signs of aging skin, reports a study in the April
issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the official medical journal of the
American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Since the facial rejuvenation results
are the same, the simpler approach using fat cells plus the "stromal vascular fraction"
has advantages over the more time-consuming stem cell fat technique, according to
the study by Dr. Gino Rigotti of Clinica San Francesco, Verona, Italy, and colleagues."

prior to its FDA approval and proven to be safe and effective for the correction
of moderate to severe, atrophic, distensible facial acne scars on the cheek in patients

NON-SURGICAL FAT REDUCTION PROCEDURES AND
BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION DOMINATE IN 2014
press release from ASAPS
"The American Society for
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) is in the process of compiling its procedural
statistical data for the 2014 calendar year, which has already started to reveal
distinct trends in the world of aesthetic plastic surgery. Due to significant technological
advances in the cosmetic field, nonsurgical fat reduction procedures rose 43% in
the past year. This is the first time that more than 100,000 such procedures were
performed in one year since ASAPS started tracking it. In addition, the number of
buttock augmentations, still a relatively new procedure, rose by a staggering 86%
in just 12 months. "

LABIAPLASTY - A PROCEDURE FOR WOMEN THAT
IS GROWING IN POPULARITY

been large since puberty or become stretched and enlarged with pregnancy or age.
Sometimes it may also be uneven or asymmetric, as well as being enlarged. If a woman
is unhappy with herself in this area, or finds that there are problems because of
this, plastic surgery can help and often fully correct any problems."

THE MAJOR ASPECTS OF AGING IN ONE OPERATION
press release from Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University

neck can be performed safely at one time, a new study shows. Total facial rejuvenation,

implants to restore fullness; and laser resurfacing to reduce skin's irregular texture
and discoloration, can be safely performed at one time, reports Dr. Achih H. Chen,
facial plastic surgeon."

PLASTIC SURGERY RESEARCHERS ASK, 'WHAT'S
THE PERFECT BREAST?'
press release from ASPS
"What's the perfect breast
shape? Nearly everyone agrees-it's a breast with an "upper pole to lower pole ratio
of 45:55," reports a study in the September issue of Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons
(ASPS). "The 45:55 ratio has universal appeal in defining the ideal breast," concludes
the report by plastic surgeons Dr Patrick Mallucci of The Cadogan Clinic and Dr
Olivier Alexandre Branford of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, London. They believe
this near-unanimity of opinion supports using the 45:55 ratio "as the basis for
design in aesthetic surgery."
A 3D "BEFORE-AND-AFTER" TOOL FOR PLASTIC
press release from American Friends of Tel Aviv University
"For some plastic surgery
patients, expectations are unrealistically high. Basing their hopes on the before-and-after
albums offered in surgeons' offices, they expect to achieve a perfect body or to
look just like a favorite celeb. Now a Tel Aviv University researcher is developing
software based on real clinical data to give patients a more accurate - and three-dimensional
- before-and-after picture before the scalpel comes down. It helps patients avoid
unexpected results in the plastic surgeon's office, and can also help a surgeon
determine the most favorable outcome for the patient."
JAW ANGLE CHANGES ADD TO AGING APPEARANCE,
MAY LEAD TO TWO-STEP APPROACH TO FACIAL REJUVENATION
press release from University of Rochester Medical Center
"Facelifts and other wrinkle-reducing
procedures have long been sought by people wanting to ward off the signs of aging,
but new research suggests that it takes more than tightening loose skin to restore
a youthful look. A study by physicians at the University of Rochester Medical Center
indicates that significant changes in facial bones - particularly the jaw bone -
occur as people age and contribute to an aging appearance."
BULLHORN SUB-NASAL LIPLIFT REVISITED
"I receive e-mails from
dissatisfied plastic surgery patients on a monthly basis looking for help. Over
the last few years, one of the highest rates of dissatisfaction has come from patients
who have had a lip lift. One of the common threads among most of these e-mails are
that these patients did not have a simple skin only lip lift, they had the type
of liplift that also involved surgery on the orbicularis oris muscle."

THE "LIP LIFT" WHEN A FACELIFT IS NOT ENOUGH
we get older, the lips get longer, they turn down at the corners, they get thinner,
and the area around the mouth gets loose. My talk is going to be on how to make
a mouth look younger. An old mouth makes a face look old even after a facelift.
If you don't address the mouth, you can't have a youthful face. On average, you
can make a face look about five years younger by adding mouth procedures to your
facial rejuvenation. "
FACELIFT MAKES YOU LOOK 12 YEARS YOUNGER
who have undergone a facelift rate themselves as looking an average of 12 years

BREAKING NEWS! 2011 UROLOGIST REPORT REVEALS
"TRACTION BEATS SURGERY FOR PERMANENT LENGTHENING OF THE MALE SEX ORGAN"
enlargement is one of the most controversial topics today. Many physicians claim
that there is no medical proof that the non-surgical methods for increasing the
penile size actually work. In addition to that, there are many people online abusing
this topic, which is one of the main reasons why everyone is so skeptic about it.
With the growing popularity of the penile extenders, one of the most reputable medical
journals BJUI (British Journal of Urology International), which is issued as the
official journal of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, have published
a research paper about the effect and benefits of the penile enlargement devices.

New At-Home Laser PaloVia Skin Renewing
Laser is First to Deliver Visible Improvement For Wrinkles and Fine Lines Around
and wrinkles around the eyes, commonly called "crow's feet," are typically the first
signs of aging as the skin is thinner and more susceptible to collagen depletion.
While lotions and creams treat the appearance of wrinkles on the skin's surface,
the PaloVia fractional laser also works deep under the skin's surface where wrinkles
